Vanessa Mota - President/CEO
​
Vanessa is originally from Chicago, IL, is a passionate advocate for international business. Her vision is to unite and empower diverse multicultural business leaders, entrepreneurs, and aspiring business owners. With a unique perspective gained from teaching English and American Literature at Yambian University in China and working across various Asian countries, Vanessa understands the global business landscape. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and business affairs from Francis Marion University and a masters in leadership from CIU. Vanessa Mota currently serves as an advisor for the City of Columbia’s Mayor’s Minority Business Council and is the current President of the International Chamber of Entrepreneurs USA Chapter. Vanessa Mota was honored with the 2021 FBI Columbia Director’s Community Leadership Award (DCLA) and was recognized by the United States Small Business Administration in 2020. As the President and Founder of Mota Crosslinking Business Academy (MCBA) - Academia de Negocios, Vanessa leads a bilingual-multicultural institution that provides continuous educational and business courses to both aspiring and established entrepreneurs in Spanish and English. Under her leadership, MCBA hosts the state-recognized Latino Business Day and other crosslinking events, celebrating the contributions of individuals and business owners from the community. Through her dedication and hardwork, MCBA has been awarded the USA flag from the SC State Capitol - flag flown program by SC Congressman Joe Wilson, a resolution recognizing MCBA's 5th anniversary from the City of West Columbia, and a recognition from SC state representatives recognizing MCBA’s multiculturalism.
